Organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Wushu Association and sponsored by State Sports Council, the four-day 12th State Wushu Championship started today at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here. Participants from 16 districts of the state are taking part in various age and weight groups in this competition, a handout issued by the Association claimed. Earlier, the championship was declared open by Member Legislative Council (MLC), Yuvraj Vikramaditya Singh, was the chief guest in the inaugural function today. The IGP, HK Lohia and Secretary, State Sports Council, Javed Shah as also Joint Secretary, Shiv Kumar Sharma, member of the Sports Council, Ranjeet Kalra, Deepak Handa and Vijay Saraf were among other guests present. Speaking to the gathering, chief guest, Yuvraj Vikramaditya congratulated Bhanu Pratap Singh, Rajinder Singh, Kamal Kishore and their Coach Kuldeep Handoo for making the state and country proud by winning medals at International level.
