SCA WOMEN T-20 CHAMPIONSHIP
SRINAGAR: Five matches were played across two venues in State Cricket Academy Women T-20 Championship on Thursday.
In the first match played at Bakhshi Stadium, Srinagar, Srinagar Power Hitters overpowerd Women’s College MA Road Srinagar by ten wickets.
Batting first, Women’s College batters failed yo withstand Srinagar Power Hitters’ accurate bowling show to be bundled out for 42 runs. Power Hitters exhibited all-round show with the ball with Hinan taking three wickets and Bisma and Bushra snaring a brace of wickets each.
Power Hitters didn’t have to sweat much, scaling down the target with all their wickets intact.
Jammu Warriors beat Jammu Queens by ten wickets in the second match of the day at Bakhshi Stadium.
Jammu Queens could manage only 42 for the loss of nine wickets in the alloted 20 overs. Ankita Jalla took three wickets.
Jammu Warriors consumed only eight overs to chase down the target. Menu Salathia made 30 in the successful chase.
The third fixture of the day saw Ladakh Warriors beat Women’s College Nawa Kadal by 44 runs in a low scoring game.
Put into bat, Ladakh Warriors managed to post a score of 87 for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Fatima Bano was the highest scorer making 33.
In reply, Women’s College Nawa Kadal could manage only 43. Fatima was declared player of the match for her match winning knock.
Over in Islamia College, the only match played ged at the venue proved to be a high scoring tie with WCC Baramulla beating Green Valley by 11 runs.
Thanks to undefeated 69 from Urwa, WCC Baramulla posted a big score of 158 for the loss of three wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Green Valley showed great character to get closer to the target, making 147 for the loss of six wickets.
The fifth and the last fixture of the day between Slay Demons Srinagar and South Kashmir was won by the former by seven wickets.
The tournament is being organised by State Cricket Academy.
