A 4_day Volleyball Referee Clinic organized by BANDIPORA District Volleyball Association under the ageis of Volleyball Association of J&K concluded at S.K. Stadium BANDIPORA today. On the closing ceremony Mrs Hamida Astt. Commissioner (R) BANDIPORA was the Chief Guest whereas Mr Nazir Ahmed Joint Secretary, J&K Sports Council Kashmir division, Mr Javed Munshi CEO BANDIPORA were guests of honour.
The clinic conceived by Volleyball Association of J&K to update the skills of Physical Education teachers, Mped students, senior Volleyball players of Kashmir Valley, first of its kind by a reputed international Volleyball Referee Mr Rameshwar Singh Chauhan from Himachal Pradesh. Mr Chouan was course Director of the clinic provided latest tips/rules of Volleyball game as per Volleyball Federation of india norms to the trainees. Besides theory,practical and audio visual classes were taken to chisel officiating methods of conducting Volleyball Matches threadbare. The clinic culminated with Objective written test in which candidates drawn from far off areas such as Guraz, Kupwara. URI. Baramulla, Kulgam, Pulwama participated. The Chief Guest strongly advocated for promotion of sports among youth to get rid of social evils /drug menace on the occasion. She congratulated the organizers for holding the clinic for the first time in Kashmir Valley for enabling Volleyball officials of the state to learn latest techniques /expertise of the game. Mr Nazir Ahmed Joint Secretary, J&K Sports Council explained Volleyball Association of J&K is one of the leading Sports Associations out of total 53 affiliated with J&K Sports Council who has undertaken lead in holding various Camps /”Clinics for players /officials in the state in its outreach prog., by covering every nook & corner of the state.Joint Secretary also urged other sports bodies of the state to follow VAJK foot prints in enriching Sports activities in the state. He called upon all trainees to show their skills of officiating Volleyball Match in Srinagar in the month of September 2018 where VAJK is holding State Volleyball Championship for Boys and Girls. Amongst dignitaries Kuldip Magotra Chief Executive officer VAJK /Associate Secretary VFI., Mohd Tariq executive member of Volleyball Association of J&K also interacted on the occasion. Mr ARSULLAHA Habib organizing Secretary of the clinic /BANDIPUR DISTRICT VOLLEYBALL ASSOCIATION conducted the proceedings which concluded with distribution of certificates to the participants.
