SRINAGAR: The State Thang-Ta championship 2018 organised by J&K Thang-Ta Association concluded at Sher-I-Kashmir Indoor Srinagar on Tuesday. The championship was sponsored by the J &K State Sports Council.
Secretary J&K State Sports Council Naseem Javaid Chowdary was chief guest on the concluding ceremony while as sports officer Nusrat Gazala was the guest of honor. Among others present on the occasion were President J&K Thang-Ta Association Syed Nisar Hussain Gillani, Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar, Mohd Galib and Altaf ur Rehman.
Around 462 players from 12 districts of the State participated in the championship including 80 players each from Baramulla and Srinagar, 46 players from Shopian, 30 players from Pulwama, 42 players from Jammu, 19 players from Poonch, 40 players from Anantnag, 20 players from Kulgam, 10 players from Doda, 38 players from Budgam, 20 players from Bandipora and 30 players from Ganderbal.
District Jammu emerged as overall winner in the championship while as district Baramulla bagged runners-up trophy.
