Academy will help in grooming the young cricketers of the State: Secretary Sports Council
Srinagar, May 10: State’s first ever cricket Academy was officially inaugurated by the secretary Sports council. The first of its kind, state cricket academy is housed in the Bakshi Stadium Srinagar. While the developmental/construction work is in progress in the area already earmarked for the purpose. The first coaching camp for u16 boys is being held in the makeshift area in the same premise.
Speaking on the occasion, the secretary sports council apprised that establishment of cricket academy was long due owing to the demand of cricket enthusiasts and finally after receiving nod from Hon’ble Chief minister, the President of the Sports Council and Hon’ble Minister for Youth Service and Sports, Molvi Imran Reza Ansari, it has finally taken off.
Secretary also added that academy has a long way to go and will help in grooming the young cricketers of the state.
Mubashir Hassan, Director SCA said that the main purpose of the academy is to nurture cricketers at the grass root level and intends to be nursery for producing cricketers for bigger stage.
