Wonder Boys, BCC, PCC progress further
SRINAGAR: Wonder Boys Reds, Wonder Boys Bandipora, Burhan Cricket Club, Plan Cricket Club secured victories in their respective fixtures as nine matches were played Sunday in State Cricket Academy T-20 Championship played across five district of the valley.
In Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, Wonder Boys Reds beat Valley Boys by 43 runs in the first fixture of the day. Batting first, Wonder Boys made 156 for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In reply Valley Boys were restricted to 113 for the loss of eight wickets.
Kaloosa XI were fixtured against Wonder Boys Bandipora in the first game of the day in Bandipora fixture which was won by the latter by eight wickets. Kaloosa XI managed just a score of 97 in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, Wonder Boys took just 13.1 overs to scale down the target losing just two wickets. Musavir scotred 39 runs and took a wicket to earn man of the match award.
Kulgam District fixture saw Burhan Cricket Clun prevail over Tuskers Kulgam by 24 runs. Batting first, Burhan Cricket Club amassed a score of 177 for the loss of six wickets. In reply, Tuskers Kulgam fought hard but fell short by 24 runs in the end.
All-rounder Javid Ahmad walked away with man of the match for taking three wickets and making 42 runs.
Pan Cricket Club beat Friends Cricket Club by seven wickets in North Kashmir’s Bandipora derby. Friends Cricket Club were restricted to just a score of 114 for the loss of eight wickets. Pan Cricket Club chased down the target just losing three wickets. Shahi was declared man of the match for taking three wickets.
