In order to give international training experience to the Elite sports persons from our state J&K Sports Council has sponsored 2 Gymnasts of the state to the international training center for rhythmic gymnastics at Uzbekistan for one month combined & advance training program with the Gymnasts of Uzbekistan Gymnastics Federation at their state of Art Rhythmic Gymnastics coaching centre at Tashkent and at present are undergoing practice with them.
Palak kour and Bavleen Kour , two outstanding gymnasts who are national gold medalists and are aspirant for representing India in Prestigious Commonwealth Games 2018 and Asian Games 2018 have been sponsored for one month training program.
Secretary J&K State Sports Council Waheed Parra said that the Government wants to encourage Elite sportsperson to enhance their performance at International level so that they can bring laurels for the state and the country.
“Besides strengthening the trainee and infrastructure at grass root level ,we also want to give international training experience to our elite players and this is one such initiation in this deviation “, Parra said.
It is pertinent to mention that Palak Kour represented the country in last edition of Commonwealth Games in Scotland 2014 & has won 2 Gold n One Silver in the last edition of Prestigious National Games at Kerala in 2015 and six medals in the All India Inter university championships at Chandigarh -2016 while Bavleen kour secured Fifth & sixth rank in two Events during Thailand open RG championships 2016 , she also has distinction to win 5 medals including 2 Gold ,2 Silver and 1 Bronze in the National School Games , and is an promising upcoming Gymnasts of the country
