MLA Advocate Mohd Yousuf Bhat appreciates the sportspersons

Jammu, 06 Feb: While J&K sportspersons vows to continue winning streak, a team of Sqay Martial Arts have set the goals of bringing laurels for the state Jammu and Kashmir. The team is leaving for Tri Nation Series which is going to be held at Nepal, Kathmandu from 11th Feb.

Secretary Sports Council Waheed Ur Rehman Parra & MLA Advocate Mohd Yousuf Bhat flagged off the Martial Arts Team for the Tri Nation series and wished them best.

“It is a proud moment for us that the team is participating in Tri Nation series at Nepal, Kathmandhu. It is the hard work of Sports council and sportspersons that is yielding the results.” said, MLA, Advocate Mohd Yousuf Bhat.

He further added that the main motive of the Jammu and Kashmir government is to promote Sports activities in the State among the students and non- student youth. The aim is to create and maintain social inclusion and engagement of youth, which will lead to substantial development of social capital.

“Government is trying best to make impact in the areas of physical health, cognitive and academic development, mental strengthening, positive channelization of youth energy and making substantial contribution towards the development of society,” said MLA Bhat.

Meanwhile, various Sports associations of Jammu and Kashmir have appreciated the enthusiasm shown by the J&K State Sports Council towards the initiative of providing space for youth for overall development of sports in the state.

“Our youth have enough talent. They only need a proper direction and platform to move ahead in their lives and today we feel that the sports in Kashmir is taking a new curve and change is visible on ground,” said Waheed Parra, Secretary Sports Council.

He further added that the youth is our endeavour to uphold and create ample opportunities for Kashmir’s youth. “We want to create new avenues and opportunities for youth. And we are desperate to have sports stadiums in every place, where youth are eager for sports and are shunning the obsessions,” he said.

Meanwhile, various disciplines of sports teams are playing Nationals at different places in India under Khelo India and some teams have marked the win in the National games.
