Plantation drive held at KK Hakhu Stadium with the theme to protect environment

TREES ARE THE BEST SAVIOR

In collaboration with J&K Hockey Association, Sports Authority of India, STC Jammu and J&K Sports Council, manager KK Hakhu Stadium initiated the plantation drive at KK Hakhu Stadium to protect the nature and environment.
 
Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Chief Accounts Officer / Administrative Officer of J&K Sports Council kicked off the campaign to convey the positive messages for all to save the life and beauty of nature on earth.
 
Over fifty saplings were planted in the newly renovated and upgraded Hakhu Stadium by the chief guest. Among others sports players also participated in this event.
 
Speaking on the occasion chief guest Dr. Zafar Iqbal said that I am honoured to be here for this noble cause and appreciated the efforts of the manager, staff and his co-partner especially the Hockey J&K and Sports Authority of India to take care of the area, pledged to make the environment beautiful and green. He thanked president Hockey Association J&K Rajeev Sharma for making this event a success and hope to receive continuous support for same event in future.
 
Chief guest stressed the young generation to continue the plantation drive in future as it balances the lives on earth.
 
Expressing his gratitude to the guests and other present on the occasion General Secretary Hockey J&K Association Taran Singh highlighted that this initiative will go long way in inculcating awareness among the Sports Persons and public in general about environment conservation. Let us all resolve to plant trees to make KK Hakhu Stadium a pollution free zone he added.
 
Varinder Sharma in-charge STC SAI Jammu assured that in team efforts we will continue to organise such activities to contribute in maintaining ecological balance and conserving the environment in future also.
 
Last year too such plantation drives were conducted and the result is visible in the KK Hakhu Stadium and M.A Stadium with the plants having grown sizably tall.
 
Besides the Dev Raj, SAI Handball coach, Satpal Sharma, SAI Badminton coach, Rajeev Kr. Dogra, SAI Volleyball Coach, Vikram Saini, SAI Asstt. Badminton Coach, Satpal Singh, Football Coach, Joginder Singh, Hockey Coach, Shamash Deen, Athletic Coach, staff and players were present on the occasion.
