Our players have potential to compete at National and International levels: Dr Chowdhary
SRINAGAR, 28 Sep: In a bid to reach out to every player associated with the sports, J&K State Sports Council in collaboration with J&K deaf and dumb association organized a cricket tournament which commenced today in Srinagar.
“The tournament commenced today at Polo ground Srinagar in which 5 teams from 5 districts including Jammu, Srinagar, Anantnag, Pulwama and Budgam are participating,” informed Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir, Nuzhat Ara.
It is pertinent to mention here that there are more than 250 sportspersons registered with the J&K Sports Association for the Deaf.
Secretary J&K State Sports Council, Dr Naseem Javaid Chowdhary while inaugurating the tournament said, “It is very encouraging to see the players from the association participating in the tournament. It will certainly encourage others for the sports and will bring more into the field.”
He further added, “Our players have potential to compete at National and International levels for which sports council will be always at forefront in promoting the raw talent to provide them a platform where they can excel in the field of sports,” said Dr Chowdhary.
Chief Sports Officer, SO (K) and other officials of the Sports Council were present on the occasion.
