Ancient Chinese martial art Wushu is gaining popularity among the youth of Kashmir. The sudden interest in Wushu can be credited to 22-year-old Bhanu Pratap Singh who won a gold medal recently at the Asian Games in Indonesia. A three-day district Wushu championship was organised by the State Sports Council and JK Wushu Association. Around 300 local players from several clubs and schools participated in the championship. Selected players will get a chance to participate in the National level Wushu Championship that will be held in Jammu in December.
