Tahab Tigers Pulwama, Coaching Center Kupwara pocket titles in respective districts

Srinagar: Tahab Tigers and Coaching Center Kupwara Tuesday won the titles in their respective district championship of State Cricket Academy T-20 Championship.
The Pulwama leg of the championship was won by Tahab Tigers beating Shining Star Pampore by five wickets.
Electing to bat first, Shining Star meandered to 132 for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Khalid was the substantial scorer making a 16-ball 22.
Tariq Ahmad and Mehraj were the succesful bowlers for Tahab Tigers claiming three wickets each.
Chasing 133, Tahab Tigers had some hiccups but at the end managed the chase comfortably to win the all important summit clash by five wickets. Thanks to Jahangir’s 39 and 18 each from Javid Ahmad and Altaf Ahmad, Tigers score winning runs in the 20th over. For Shining Star, Shabir and Muzafar took a brace of wickets each.
Secretary J&K State Sports Council Waheed Ur Rehman Parra was the chief guest on the occasion. He reteriated that Sports Council will provide all the facilities to talented sportspersons to make it big in their respective fields.
Over in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, Coaching Center Kupwara beat Victoria Kupwara by three wickets to win district Kupwara Championship.
Coaching Center  Kupwara set a target of 139 for Coaching Center Kupwara. Batting first, Victoria Kupwara posted a decent score of 138 for the loss of eight wickets in the alloted 20 overs. Zahoor was the highest scorer for making a solid 32 off 30 balls. For Coaching Center Kupwara, Shiekh Junaid and Azad took two wickets each.
Kupwara Coaching Center chased the target losing  seven wickets.
