An initiative to develop sports as a culture at grass-root level
Srinagar, Apr, 30: With the aim to bring sports at grass-root level and develop sports as a culture among the youth of the state, J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC) started registrations of village level clubs, players and teams of different sports disciplines.
“Under Youth Promotion initiative, Sports Council started a program to provide recognition and support to Sports teams from each and every village of the state with an aim to bring sports at grass-root level,” an official of the Sports Council said.
The talented sportspersons will get access to class-level coaching programs; chance to participate in Sports tournaments at State, National and International level.
“A chance to teams, village level clubs to prove the mettle on ground zero, besides they will be giving access to all the infrastructure of Sports Council, membership of registered state clubs, free sports kits and uniforms,” Secretary Sports Council informed.
Meanwhile, Sports Council has made no age limit of the teams, clubs for registrations, moreover availability of coaches’ access to state level platforms to voice their concerns regarding sports related activities in their area, including the face lifting of playgrounds of villages and wards.
“It is a great initiative by the council that they will be providing direct support for creation and face lifting of villages and playgrounds, besides a great chance for players like us to win recognition and awards,” says Mudasir Zargar, an aspiring cricketer.
The registrations had started for North and Central Kashmir, wherein sports council received a huge response, informed the officials of the council.
