More than 200 students participated in coaching cum training camp at govt high school Shalnard
Dooru, May 24: With the aim to bring sports at grass-root level and develop sports as a culture among the youth of the state, J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC) on Thursday reached out to rural area of Shalnard dooru of South Kashmir’s district Anantnag to promote sports among the youth.
Sports council deputed a team of 3 coaches to provide basic trainings to the student youth of government high school shalnard Dooru Anantnag.
“As per directions of the secretary sports council, waheed ur rehman parra, sports council deputed a team of 3 coaches Ghulam Mursaleen Mir of Basketball discipline, Amir Aslam of Badminton discipline coach and Ajaz Hassan of wushu discipline to the Govt Shalnard High School for trainings cum coaching which will help in identifying the talent at various levels under various matrices for nurturing of identified talent,” said Umer Wani, Project Coordinator, Sports Council.
More than 200 students participated in the coaching cum training camp at the school organized by J&K State Sports Council.
“I feel very good and it is need of the hour to have such camps for the students from far flung areas and I hope that such camps will be held in future also,” said Mohd Amin Khan, Headmaster government high school shalnard.
Secretary Sports Council, Waheed ur Rehman Para said that training camps are being conducted not only to promote sports at grass-root level but also to help revive the sports culture in the State.
He further added, “It will provide a platform to the budding talents to compete at various levels. Talent identification would also be done in the process for grooming them to achieve excellence at block and district levels and then same at state and so on,” said Para.
