Equipment’s distributed to boost rural sports and to nurture the young talent: Waheed Para
SRINAGAR: In order to boost the rural sports, Jammu and Kashmir State Sports council on Friday distributed the sports equipment’s to the newly appointed NIS trained community coaches.
“These community coaches train the aspiring and local youth in their respective villages/areas,” said an official of the Sports council.
It is pertinent to mention here that the community coaches who are certified trained coaches from National Institute of Sports train the youngsters in rural areas in various sports disciplines.
While distributing the equipment’s to these coaches for better sports facilities and to train more and more youngsters in rural areas, Secretary Sports council, waheed ur Rehman Parra said, “our youth has lot of potential to compete at National and International levels, for which Government will be always at forefront in promoting the raw talent to provide them a platform where they can excel in the field of sports.” He said.
Meanwhile, Joint Secretary (K), Nazir Ahmad, DSO, Nuzhat Ara, CSO, Abdul Qayoom, Sports officer (C), Gazala and other officials of the sports council were present on the occasion.
The community coaches later on thanked the sports council for equipping them with the necessary equipments and termed the development as need of the hour.
“We were desperate for these equipments and today it happened. We can now properly guide and train the players with proper equipments and that will make them learn the certain nuances of the sport,” said Amir and Mir Mursaleen, Community coaches, Sports council.
