With onslaught of pandemic since 2020 intermittently throwing more challenges, J&K Sports Council in order to keep athletes focused and not to lose any mental orientation is conducting an online training program for all athletes to keep them well prepared for the competitions which shall commence post pandemic decline and also helping others joining regime to stay fit.
Pre-recorded videos covering around 20 sports disciplines by inhouse and some professional coaches of Sports Authority of India are being broadcasted on their official website www.jksportscouncil.in and other social networking handles like YouTube and Instagram besides livestreaming of coaching sessions on their official Facebook page. besides motivational messages by the former and current international figures.
Conceptualized with a vision of providing high quality, standardised, level based, online sports training and education program for grassroots athletes/learners/beginners this shall be a game changer in the e-learning by reaching out to sports enthusiasts and helping bridge a connection between trainees and their coaches on a mass scale and connecting both urban and rural area.
In a place like J&K where majority of the population has access electronic gadgets, programmes like these are just a click away and thus help in maximum possible participation and future scalability.
Experts opine that this programme offers a scope for continuous improvement through “E-Sessions” for more athletes-friendly interactions besides involvement of local community influencers, prominent personalities, participants’ families and the local sports communities and more importantly youngsters shall have access to the most basic resources needed to hone skills.
Speaking to our correspondent, Nuzhat Gull Secretary, J&K Sports Council said, “extraordinary challenges need extraordinary solutions” and there was an ardent need to think out of box and we felt online sports activities can act as beacon and connect people all across and with the involvement of professionals from our region, this will offer a sense of belonging and more and more people will join.
Expressing her gratitude to authorities, she was all praises for the J&K administration for lending all possible help in the successful conduct of the programme.
Pertinent to mention that Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha formally gave go ahead to the programme and appreciated the role of J&K Sports Council for organising the series of online lectures. Minister for Youth Affiars, Government of India Kiren Rijiju has been following the programme has appreciated J&K Sports Council for this unique initiative and has been regularly tweeting about it since day one.
