After taking four wickets in first inning for his team, Parvez Rasool took three more wickets in second as India Blue settled for draw on the last day of four day match.
Star cricketer of J&K Parvez Rasool finished with match haul of seven wickets as he helped India Reds earn first inning lead points against India Blue in the match of Duleep Trophy at NPR College Ground, Dindigul on Sunday.
After taking four wickets in first inning for his team, Parvez Rasool took three more wickets in second as India Blue settled for draw on the last day of four day match. Chasing 278 runs to win on the last day of the match, India Blues were going well with openers Faiz Fazal and D Shorey giving them excellent start. They put on 76 run partnership for the opening wicket and it looked like they will reach target without any trouble. Like first inning, Parvez Rasool again stepped into rescue his team, breaking the dangerous partnership by rattling the stumps of Faiz Fazal. Only couple over after he again strike by getting wicket Abhisekh Kumar. This was the opening that India Reds needed. In stepped the Shahbaz Nadeem who took back to back five wickets. Parvez got his third in shape of KS Bharat. When India Blue settled for draw they were on 128 for the loss of eight wickets still trailing by 150 runs. India Reds bagged three points from match while as Blues got one.
The striking feature of J&K Ranji trophy skipper’s performance in the match was that he got all his seven wickets in match without any help from others. He had four clean bowled, two caught bowled and one lbw. However Parvez would be little disappointed as in both innings he failed to make mark with bat.
