Largest sports carnival J&K under Khelo India scheme for U-17 boys begins in Samba today. The block level competitions would be held in many disciplines which include Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Cycling, Football Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Kho Kho, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling and Wushu.
More than 350 players participated in the competition at M.V. International School, from different villages of Block Vijaypur viz:
- 11 Teams of Volleyball
- 10 Teams of Kabbadi
- 43 Players in Wrestling
- 60 Players in Athletics
- 35 Players in Boxing
Mr. K.L. Dogra, Principal M.V. International School inaugurated the competition along-with Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed, OSD to Secretary J&K State Sports Council, Mr. Rajan Sharma, Divisional Sports Officer, Mr. Satish Gupta, Director Competition Block Vijaypur, Mr. Inderpal Singh (Member of Committee Block Vijaypur), Mr. Vikas Magotra (Member of the Committee block Vijaypur) and other technical officials and supporting staff.
