Sports Council became the first government organisation in J&K to have a dedicated geo-portal: Dr Chowdhary
SRINAGAR, JULY 02:- In a major development, J&K Sports Council took a big step ahead in bringing the administrative efficiency to a level at-par with the national e- governance initiatives by launching an integrated MIS/GIS system and Mobile Application.
The Software and Mobile Application was launched today by Advisor’s Kumar, Ganai and Skandan jointly at Gindun Sports Stadium Srinagar.
While launching the software and application, Advisor Kumar said, “This initiative will enable Sports Council to uniquely manage, monitor and analyse the sports activities, infrastructure, assets and administration through various integrated modules.”
It is pertinent to mention here that MIS System is a web based system which will cover various intricacies of the council.
“It assigns unique ID profile codes to players, coaches, associations, administrative levels in JKSSC thereby simplifying the work flow in JKSSC hierarchy, across the J&K state,” said Dr Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, Secretary, J&K State Sports Council.
He further added, “It will have all the functionalities to monitor the coaching activities, sports infrastructure status, internal work flow along with others.”
Meanwhile, Sports Council J&K became the first government organisation in J&K to have a dedicated geo-portal for managing its sports infrastructure assets. Informing about the geo-portal, secretary sports council said, “This will help in analysis of data for optimisation of time and resources in building new infrastructure,” he added.
Sports Council has also developed a mobile application which has been developed to bridge the information gap between the JKSSC and other stakeholders in sports including players, coaches, associations, aspiring young kids. This will bring transparency, efficiency and increase the public outreach of government to common public.
The Software was developed with an aim along with associated web/mobile applications to make sports council accessible to everyone at click of a button.
MIS Module is meant for File Tracking, Profile data, Activity Tracking of 22 Districts from 55 recognized associations while as GIS Module is for Geo tagging of JKSSC infrastructure and related information.
The android based Mobile Applications would be useful for News, Player Grievances, Information help desk, Player Registrations, Ground Booking etc.
Meanwhile, the Advisors appreciated the efforts of JKSSC for working hard in upgrading the sports facilities in all the districts and providing platform to the youth to hone their skills and bring laurels to the state.
Advisor Kumar asked Secretary JKSSC to closely monitor the other projects being initiated by them in the city as well as in other parts of the state so that same can be dedicated to the people especially youth for optimal use.
