SRINAGAR, Feb 07 : The Jammu & Kashmir Baseball Association is going to conduct it’s 11th edition of state level 5 days long Baseball Championship which will commence from March 7th and will be concluded on 11th March, 2017 here at Islamia College of Science and Commerce ground, Hawal, Srinagar.
“The championship will be open for all age-groups. Both boys and girls can participate in it,” General Secretary JKBA, Fida Hussain Fidvi said.
“We invite all our affiliated district units and teams from different educational institutions of the state to register themselves in the championship to the Organizing Secretary , Dr. Altaf Ur Rehman Physical Director of Islamia College , Hawal, Srinagar.
Fidvi said , that around 40 teams from across the state are expected to take part in the 5 days long event.
Baseball sport has gained very much popularity among the youth of the state and we are expecting good competition to see here because most of the districts is having hundreds of national players and most of them are expecting to take part in the competition.
“From these teams, we will select a final baseball team which will represent state in the forthcoming 31th Senior National Baseball Championship.” in both boys and girls, said Fidvi.
The championship will be held under the close supervision of Nuzhat Ara, Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir (JKSSC) and will be organized under the auspices of Amateur Baseball Federation of India and sponsored by the J&K State Sports Council.
