JAMMU: Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir (VAJK) on Monday organised a function to felicitate Naseem Javed Choudhary, on assuming the charge of Secretary, J&K State Sports Council.
Raj Daluja, Patron-in-Chief VAJK and Vice President J&K Olympic Association welcomed the Secretary Sports Council by presenting him a bouquet.
Dushyant Sharma, President J&K Olympic Association, Dr. Ashutosh Sharma General Secretary, J&K Olympic Association, Ranjit Kalra, Vice Chairman Sports Council Jammu, Sidharth Daluja President Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir and Treasurer of J&K Olympic Association were also present on the occasion.
The office bearers of VAJK including Kuldip Magotra CEO/Associate Secretary VFI, H.S Gill Vice President, R.C Sharma Treasurer presented bouquets to other dignitaries.
Welcoming the Chief Guest, V.K Magotra General Secretary VAJK apprised the gathering about the aims and objectives of the Association with special reference to its mandate to promote volleyball game in every nook and corner of the State.
He disclosed that VAJK has 16 established District Volleyball units out of 22 districts in J&K State which are organising their district/state level events besides deploying various volleyball teams in national championships.
“The Association has so far over 1,600 registered players and 190 clubs spread all over the State,” he said adding that the Association under the patronage of Raj Daluja is leaving no stone unturned in promoting volleyball in the State in all respects and helping to tackle the drug menace among youth by engaging them in sports activities.
Kuldip Singh Jamwal, President J&K Rifle Shooting Association and Dushant Sharma also welcomed the Chief Guest on behalf of various Sports Associations.
The Secretary Sports Council responding to the gesture of VAJK and various Sports Associations assured full cooperation in running the affairs of Sports Council in most transparent and efficient manner.
He also called upon the office bearers of sports associations to come up to the expectation of the Sports Council for upholding the image of sports arena of the State at national level. He congratulated the winners of various sports association of J&K in recently concluded 18th Asian Games in the international field.
Sidharth Daluja thanked the Secretary J&K State Sports Council for joining sports fraternity in a function. Mohd Tariq Executive Member of VAJK conducted the proceedings of the function. Office bearers of other sports associations namely Dr. Vikram Handa, Deepak Handa, Suneel Mahajan, Ravinder Singh, Vikas Gupta, Vijay Saraf, Sunil Sharma, Sharat Chander, Rajan Sharma, Yudhvir Singh, Kuldeep Singh, B.S Tirthi and Tarseem Sharma were also present on the occasion.
