Chief Sports Officer J&K State Sports Council was the chief guest who awarded cash prizes, trophies, and certificates to the participants.
The State Chess Championship 2018 concluded at Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex Srinagar. The championship was sponsored by J&K State Sports Council and all the matches were officiated by the officials of J&K State Sports Council.
Soham Kamotra secured 1st position, Sumit Grover bagged 2nd position, while Khalid Amin secured 3rd position, and Shashi Pal Sharma secured 4th position in the championship.

Besides the main function, prize distribution ceremony for Kashmir province Chess Championship 2018 which concluded earlier on October 8 was also held to distribute cash prizes, trophies and certificates among the participants of the provincial championship.
Notably, out of all participants of the championship, eight players have been selected for State Senior category chess championship 2018 who will represent J&K State in Senior National “A” Chess Championship 2018 scheduled to be held at Jammu.
