Wushu made the J&K state proud by reserving 3 berths for the Asian Games 2018 at Palembang Jakarta from 18 th August to 2nd September 2018. Kuldeep Handoo National Chief Coach of India is leading the 18 Member Indian team comprosing 13 Players,4 Coaches,manager. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has cleared Wushu team for the Games. Kuldeep handoo is leading the Indian Wushu team consecutive third times in the Asian Games, 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games,Incheon 2014 Asian Games and now 2018 Jakarta Palembang.
In the previous 2 Games Indian wushu team secured 04 Medals 1 Silver and 03 Bronze medals. Kuldeep Handoo is the receipient of FICCI coach of the year-2016 and receipient of State Award, Sheri Kashmir Award etc. On the basis of his performance the Wushu Association of india has recommended his name for the Dronacharya Award for the year 2018. Surya Bhanu partap singh 2 Times Consecutive Bronze medalist in the World Championship and Silver medalist in the World Cup, has reserved berth for the Asian Games, pertinent to mention here that he remained the first person of the state who has been listed in the TOPS scheme of the Ministry Youth Affairs and Sports. Since 2015 he has contributed major share in the medals for the J&K State at the International level. For his performance J&K state configured him with State Award for the year 2017. Pradeep Kumar who recently secured Silver medal in the held 7 th PARS cup at Iran and Gold Medal in the friendship Peace Cup at Iran and confirmed his entry in the squad. Pradeep kumar has secured good number of medals in the National and International level championships, Silver in the 12 th SAF Games, Silver in the National Games at Kerala. The 18 member team is in china for the second time for the one month foreign exposure training, earlier the Indian team had national Wushu coaching camp at SAI Bhopal and SAI Shilaroo.
