Block level Sports activities will start in Kashmir Division soon
Srinagar, Feb 12: With the aim to bring sports at grass-root level and develop sports as a culture among the youth of the State, J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC) convened meeting of district In charges/managers of Sports council on Monday at Srinagar to discuss the block wise sports activities in all districts of the Kashmir division.
Meanwhile, District samba was taken as first such district to involve all its blocks, villages for the sports activities under KheloIndia (Sports for All).
The meeting was chaired by the Divisional Sports Officer, Kashmir Nuzhat Ara and was attended by various officials of sports council besides all the Incharges and managers of the districts of the Kashmir division.
In the meeting, the managers and the district Incharges were asked to make arrangements and preprations for the block level sports activities in their respective district for the overall promotion of various sports disciplines in the State.
Suggestions were also sought from the Incharges and managers for making the scheme a success in order to reach at grass-root levels. It is pertinent to mention here that 1, 20,000 players, U-17 will be playing at block/district levels in various disciplines for which the registrations are being sought.
The district managers and Incharges said that the response of the JK Sports Council is innovative and progressive.
