Kashmir’s first roller skating rink in the premises of the Bakshi Stadium was inaugurated.
The rink has the international size and is a key infrastructure for roller skating. A recreational activity and a sport, roller skating is the traveling on surfaces with roller skates. The hobby was popularized in US in 1935.
Interacting with around 50 skating enthusiasts, mostly children, Chief Minister of the state told them that the government will leave no stone un-turned in ensuring that the young generation has enough of sports infrastructure. She asked their parents suggestions in improving the existing infrastructure.
Council secretary Waheed Parra said that our motive is to engage more and more youth towards the sports activities in the state.
