The two day selection trials for selecting the state squad for upcoming 70th Santosh Trophy event concluded at Synthetic Turf, TRC ground Srinagar.
At the end of two-day trials, J&K Football Association (JKFA) selectors announced 26-member squad for the north zone leg of the event that is scheduled to be played at Jammu from February 6 onwards.
The squad includes mostly new faces who would be making debut in the biggest domestic football event of the country. However, the selectors have opted for some of the senior players as well owing to their record in this season’s league event. The selected 26 players include, Gautam Nehra, Rohit Kalsotra, Danish Farooq, Rohit Kumar, Jamsheed Ahmad, Adnan Ayoub and Muhammad Haneef all from J&K Bank team, Muzamil Farooq, Hayat Handoo, Ubaid Haroon and Asrar Rehbar from JK Forest-XI, Farhan Ganai, Sohail Ahmad, Basalat Shah, Gulshan Kumar, Wasiq Ahmad, Faizan Farooq, Ifam Tariq, Shabir Ahmad and Farukh Chowdhary all from Lone Star Kashmir FC. Shahnawaz Bashir, Amir Dar and Amanjoot Singh from AG office while as Faisal Ashan from Food and Supplies.
